Faryali Pattice : Vrat (Upvas) special

Faryali Pattice, also known as Farali Aaloo Pattice. This dish is usually prepare during fasting days or various religious occasions. Faryali Pattice is an easy and delicious recipe which can be prepared quickly and easily.

Ingredients for Faryali Pattice recipe (3-4 persons) -

1. For Pattice cover -
  • Peanut oil for deep fry
  • 5 boiled potatoes
  • 6 tbsp arrowroot flour

2. For Pattice stuffing -
  • 1 bowl roasted peanuts powder
  • 1 bowl fresh grated coconut
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 fine chopped green chillies
  • 1 inch grated Ginger (or 1.5 tbsp Ginger paste)
  • Fine chopped green Coriander leaves
  • Red chilli powder 
  • Salt 

How to make Faryali Pattice -

Preparation of Pattice cover -

Step 1 - Take boiled potatoes in a bowl, peel them and mash them properly. 

Step 2 - Add 3 tbsp arrowroot flour and salt as per taste to the mashed potatoes. Make medium sized balls and keep aside.

Preparation of Pattice stuffing -

Step 1 - In a mixing bowl add grated coconut, roasted peanuts powder, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 2 fine chopped green chilies, 1 inch grated Ginger ( or 1.5 tbsp Ginger paste), add red chili powder as per taste, add salt as per taste and chopped green Coriander leaves.

Step 2 - Combine all the ingredients well.

Making of Farali Pattice -

Step 1 - Gently flatten the prepared cover balls with the help of your palm. Place a spoonful stuffing mixture over it.

Step 2 - Now cover from all sides ensuring there are no cracks and form them into spherical shape. Just rub some arrowroot flour if the Pattice is sticking to your palm.

Step 3 - Just repeat the same with the rest of balls. Remove extra arrowroot flour and cover the pattice from all the sides properly.

Step 4 - Place oil in a deep frying pan. Once oil is hot, fry the pattice balls until golden brown. Place them over absorbent napkin to move the extra oil.

Tasty…. ๐Ÿ˜‹Farali Pattice is ready to be served!๐Ÿฒ It can be served with curd or green Faryali chatni (I will share this recipe very soon). Enjoy this delicious and yummy dish!๐Ÿ˜ƒ
